Bridge to Faculty

Bridge to Faculty is a postdoctoral program designed to recruit talented early-career scholars to the University of South Carolina with the goal of transitioning them to tenure-track faculty members after two years. Geography is excited to participate in this program.

Geography's Bridge to Faculty

The Bridge to Faculty Program aims to attract and retain promising scholars, particularly underrepresented early-career researchers, to the university. The program has Faculty Fellows meeting together in tailored workshops to help them develop research programs, learn the ins and outs of applying for grants, and create productive mentoring relationships. Information about Columbia and the Greater Midlands Region

As well as being home to the flagship university of the state, Columbia also serves as the locus of the state government. Nearby the Congaree National Park and Lake Murray provide exciting opportunities for outdoor adventures. This mix of the old and the new, the legislative and the academic, the traditional and the creative makes Columbia a growing and vibrant place to be. Take some time to explore the area and consider the possibilities.
