Pursue Your Passion for the Craft of Theatre

The B.A. in Theatre with Concentration in Design & Technology is designed to prepare students for professional careers or graduate- level study in theatrical production. Students can gain practical experience and develop marketable skills in the areas of sets, sound, lighting, costumes, and stage management. The program allows students the flexibility to focus on one field or broaden their experience to multiple fields of theatre production. This special concentration will appear on your official transcript.

 

Features of the Design & Technology Concentration

Hands-On Experience for Department Productions

Students in our Design & Technology Concentration get practical, faculty-guided experience in all facets of stagecraft and stage management for our season of productions in varied performance environments, including an arena stage, a proscenium auditorium, and a black box theatre.

In-Depth Training

Get detailed knowledge in courses in the fields of:
•   stagecraft;
•   scenic/lighting/sound design;
•   costume construction;
•   make-up design;
•   stage management.

Faculty Mentorship

Each student works with a faculty advisor throughout their course of study for regular assessments and post-graduate planning and advice.
