Group Piano for Beginning Adults
Weekly group class, 12-week semester, one hour per week
Class meeting time: Tuesdays, 6:15-7:15 p.m.
Have you always wanted to learn to play the piano but have never had the time or resources until now? This beginner-level class is specifically designed for adults new to music or returning after a long break. Classes take place in the state-of-the-art Group Piano Lab and provide a comprehensive introduction to piano playing. Students learn piano technique, staff reading, rhythmic reading, scales, chords, and solos. The course also includes creative activities such as playing from lead sheets and improvisation. Whether you're fulfilling a lifelong dream or simply seeking a fun and creative outlet, this class provides a supportive community and a joyful beginning to your musical journey.
Student piano requirement: Acoustic piano (preferred) or 88-key digital piano
Practice requirement: a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week

Adult Standard Piano Study
Weekly private lessons (45 or 60-minutes) and one recital per semester
This program is designed to meet the unique needs and desires of adult students seeking regular piano study, regardless of prior experience. All enrolled students may participate in one recital each semester.
The course content is flexible and can include standard intermediate piano literature, technique, theory, and/or the study of creative activities and popular music (such as playing by ear and composing). Lessons are scheduled with the private instructor.
Student piano requirement: Acoustic piano (preferred) or 88-key digital piano
Practice requirement: at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week
Students are encouraged to take at least 6 summer lessons. Those who take summer study are given preference in Fall registration.

Adult Flexible Piano Study
Eight (8), 45 or 60-minute lessons
This program is ideal for adults who want to pursue piano study but need a more flexible scheduling option. Private lessons are purchased in packages of eight lessons (45 or 60 minutes) and are scheduled with the private instructor. For the most consistent progress, it is recommended to schedule lessons on a biweekly basis, but that is not a requirement.
Course content includes the traditional study of standard piano literature, technique, and keyboard theory.
Any lessons not completed by the end of the semester are forfeited.
